The only reason i watched Mean Girls 2 is to watch it fail as a sequel to Mean Girls.
I think Mean Girls 2 was ok, but definitely not even close to being as good as Mean Girls. Mean Girls was iconic. Cady was iconic, she was intelligent and kind, but then again also naive and sheltered, not knowing a thing about school at the start and lacking social skills. That is what made Cady fun, having never attended school before. Jo on the hand has been too a variety of schools, she is tomboyish (which I don’t really mind) but then she does not get good grades, she has social skills, but doesn’t bother using them much, except to flirt with Tyler or at least be friendly, which is good, but she’s just annoying after a while. Not only that, Regina was iconic, she wasn’t just mean, she was intelligent, manipulative, tough, witty, creative, and also caring for her sister. Mandi on the other hand was not only mean, but her other personality traits aren’t like Regina’s at all (except for 1) Mandi is cruel (more than just mean about looks, but about everything she thinks is weird, going as far as losing Jo’s father his job and framing Jo), Mandi is spoiled (Regina was spoiled as well, but at least Regina could be polite and thankful, but Mandi seems to believe it’s all about her), Mandi is a bully (Regina’s form of bullying was making rumours, she never bullied anyone really to their faces, which made it good) but Mandi will shame just about anyone anywhere). Gretchen was also iconic, she wasn’t just attractive, but she was unaware of her beauty, she was insecure, she was spoiled but then she was kind as well. She only acted mean for Regina. Hope on the other hand was merely a hypochondriac (in fact not even that) she just worried about illnesses easily, hypochondriasis is a disorder which takes over an ill persons life. Karen was iconic. She was not just dumb, but she was naive and sweet. Chastity is merely a ditzy girl who cheats on her boyfriends. Aaron was charming and overall a good person (though he was a hypocrite as he thought Regina being mean was ok but cheating on him wasn’t) and was almost as dumb as Karen. But Tyler was a spoiled guy from a rich background who was not just dumb, but also slightly sexist, believing Jo inferior to build a birdhouse at first. How Jo fell for him so soon after she commented on his words and opinions I do not understand. And Janis was iconic. She was a goth who was creative, funny, and a former Plastic who was hypocritical as she hated the Plastics (specifically Regina) as they were mean but was mean back to them. Abby on the other hand is a sensitive wannabe who can’t come up with insults and just happens to enjoy art and be creative like Janis. She can’t stick up for herself and is pretty spoiled by her parents as well. Even Regina’s boyfriend after Aaron who she cheated on him with was interesting. He was funny and clearly loved Regina as he kept their relationship a secret for her at first. Nick on the other hand is Mandi’s original boyfriend who is vile, shallow and a tool in Mandi’s way. And there isn’t even a sequel to Damian so that is also bad. As well as that, Mean Girls 2 has several other issues with the plot. It’s a huge knock-off which could be better if the title was different. Then we wouldn’t be comparing to the original constantly.

To be honest, neither of them were particularly mean. Karen was naive and went along with Regina’s schemes as she liked Regina. Gretchen was also sweet but she had intelligence. She knew what Regina sometimes did was bad, but she let her get away with it and helped her out cos she was insecure and didn’t want to get bullied, but she clearly didn’t want to upset anyone. However, at times like when her boyfriend was hanging out with a girl potentially crushing on him, she was more than happy to let Regina upset Gretchen’s rival and humiliate her.
